Our Healing Ministry
Methodist Central Hall Westminster has had an active Healing Ministry for over 20 years. It was originally set up by Revd Dr. Malcom White in October 1998 and is now coordinated by Alison Bryan. We believe that God desires wholeness of life for all and so we offer opportunities for individual and corporate prayer for healing and wholeness for body, heart, mind, and spirit.
In the Healing Ministry at Methodist Central Hall Westminster, prayers for individual needs for healing and wholeness are offered by trained volunteers who make up our ministry team. We seek to enable individuals to encounter and receive from the one who heals, Jesus Christ, through the presence and power of his Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus still heals today. Sometimes it is miraculous and instantaneous and other times it is a process we walk through together in prayer.
This ministry is in no sense offered as an alternative to medical care. Medical help should always be sought as God works through the gifts of medical science and professional medical staff. We also continue to take healing prayer requests through our team and you can contact them via our online connect form here.
Due to the pandemic, our church building was closed for 18 months, although we continued to meet online. It is now fantastic it is to be back in the church building and, as in many areas of church life, MCHW is gradually resuming our in-person Healing Ministry. We have now resumed our two monthly Healing Services where corporate prayers for healing are part of the services. In addition, members of the healing prayer team will be available to offer individual prayer ministry.
- The first Sunday Evening service of every month in the Great Hall has a focus on healing. It starts at 6pm and the team are available to offer individual prayer at the end of the service
- The third Thursday of the month is our lunchtime Healing Encounter service in the Chapel at 12.30pm. This is a quiet, reflective service and a small healing prayer team is available to offer individual prayer from around 1.15pm as the service ends.
We have not yet restarted our monthly Saturday drop-in ‘Healing Space’. Watch this space for updates.
Plans are already underway for our in-person Annual Healing Conference on 14th May 2022, with the theme of ‘Transformation’, and booking is open via the MCHW.live website. The two inspirational talks by Roy Godwin from this year’s online ‘It is well with my Soul’ conference are available below.
