President & Vice President of Conference visit MCHW

On Sunday, 5th September 2021 the President and Vice President of Conference visited Methodist Central Hall Westminster for our first Evening Service of 2021.

The President of Conference, Revd Sonia Hicks presided over a service of Holy Communion and the Vice President, Barbara Easton preached on the sermon title, 'Holding things together'. Barbara's sermon can be listened back to here. The President of Conference, Revd Sonia Hicks, presided over Holy Communion and also assisted the Healing Prayer team. About 70 were in attendance at MCHW's in-person evening service, which was led by Superintendent Minister, Revd Tony Miles, with Revd Nigel Cowgill (Chair of the London District) and MCHW's ministerial team.

The worship was led by the MCHW choir and professional musicians.

Revd Miles said, 'It was a great honour for us to have our President and Vice President as we returned to evening worship for the first time since the last lockdown. It was clear from feedback after the event, that many were helped by our Vice `President's sermon and the ministry of our Prayer Team. Barbara reminded us that we are all held together in God's hands, as we live out our discipleship in word and deed.'

In the morning of the same day there was a 9.30am online service watched by over 1,300 people via MCHW.live, and a 'Thanksgiving for God's faithfulness through lockdown' at 11am, at which Mr Miles preached with about1 00 in attendance.
