ANDREW FURNISS is a concert organist and the current Assistant Director of Music at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster.
Andrew began his musical training at Worcester Cathedral as a chorister under the direction of Adrian Lucas and in 2000 was awarded a King’s Music Scholarship at the King’s School, Worcester. Whilst at the King’s School, he received tuition in the organ from Daniel Moult at Coventry Cathedral.
In 2004, Andrew succeeded in attaining two Organ Scholarships; firstly at Sheffield Cathedral (2004-2005) and subsequently at Oriel College, Oxford (2005-2008). After this Andrew held the post of College Organist at Hertford College, Oxford from 2008-2012. Whilst at Oxford, Andrew continued his studies on the organ, specialising in French and German repertoire with guidance from specialists including David Sanger, Jacques van Oortmerssen and David Briggs.
In addition to studying for a music degree, Andrew was responsible for the recording of a CD with the chapel choir and regularly toured as both a conductor and organist to countries including France, Poland and the United States of America.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, Andrew maintains a busy schedule as an examiner and tutor in the organ, piano, cello and flute in addition as a soloist and accompanist in London.
